Why it’s Cult
Founded in the 17th century, Cire Trudon is one of the oldest candle and home fragrance companies in the world. Extending its savoir-faire to unveil a line of gorgeous, genderless perfumes, Maison Trudon has sent the beauty world into raptures all over again – so, naturally, we’ve ushered these sublime scents into our Hall of Fame. Capturing one of the most poignant moments in history – the French Revolution – Révolution is inspired by the scents of musket powder and leather riding gear in the streets of late 18th century Paris. Invigorating notes of patchouli and cade mingle with smoky cedar to linger on the skin long after first spritz…
The Trudon family cut their manufacturing teeth supplying the French monarchy and Napoleon (officially the coolest – and shortest – celebrity fan on the site) and have continued to produce beautifully packaged, expertly perfumed artisan products ever since, much to the delight of curators of über-cool candles everywhere. Expanding their legacy and bringing sublime scent from home to body, Cire Trudon has developed a range of gorgeous, genderless perfumes – including the intriguing Révolution Eau de Parfum. Inspired by scents of musket powder and leather riding gear (think the streets of Paris in the late 18th century) this fragrance features the musky, sweet and spicy aroma of patchouli and woody cade, mingled with a base of smoky cedar to ensure that it lingers on the skin beautifully.
